The Adventure Recreation program takes advantage of the unique environments that surround Warnbro CHS such as the Shoalwater Marine Park and the Darling Range.
Students participate in activities such as abseiling, snorkeling, rock climbing, sailing, fishing, surfing, and mountain biking. They are taught environmental principles such as ‘leave no trace’ ethics, risk management and ecological sustainability.
The program aims to enhance the personal development, leadership and self-esteem of our students, whilst fostering environmental awareness.
The Adventure Recreation specialist program was approved by DET in 2008, making Warnbro CHS one of only two schools in the state to offer such a program. It caters for students with a specific interest in all aspects of “the outdoors”. Students enroll in the program in Year 7, and have the opportunity to carry through into either TAFE or University.
